What is Spam?

In this instance we refer specifically to Email spam which in a nutshell is , unsolicited commercial email. i.e. email sent to recipients that have not signed up or requested the information from the sender. For a fuller definition please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-mail_spam.

Antispam

Sending email to people who have not specifically requested it is "spam". Hearfrom accounts may not to be used to send Spam. Spamming is serious and Hearfrom does not permit the sending of it via it's systems.

Abusive Use Includes:

  • Email sent to people who have not specifically requested information from you or signed up to your mailing list.
  • Using mailing lists that are purchased, rented, leased.

Service Agreement Violations:

Concerning spam, our Service Agreement is:

Spamming, or the sending of unsolicited email through Hearfom's Systems. Hearfrom will be the sole arbiter as to what constitutes a violation of this provision. This action will result in immediate termination of your account without refund. Any service interruptions as a result of subscribers spamming will be billed to the subscriber at £500 per day until full service is restored. Subscribers will also be in violation of the Hearfrom Service Agreement and may be subject to legal action.

Questions?

If you are unsure of just what does constitute SPAM, please contact Hearfrom to discuss your requirements or project for further advice.

Help Hearfrom Stamp out Spam:

If you have received an unsolicited e-mail from a Hearfrom account, tell us. Forward the message you received, including the mail headers, to sales@hearfrom.com. Include a note letting us know why you think the message is spam, and that you did not request to receive information from the sender.

Why do we have these policies?

There are three basic reasons.

  • We consider spam to be an unacceptable use of our email systems.
  • The sending of spam to certain people in certain countries is illegal.
  • If we allow our systems to send out spam, we will be listed in various places on black lists and your subscribers as well as our subscribers will no longer be able to receive emails from our systems.
